The EKSU post UTME notice for 2026/2027 expressly states that there will be no examination. Admission screening still requires an accurate online application, the right academic subjects and the minimum UTME score for the chosen programme. No examination does not mean automatic admission.
The published exercise began on 3 July 2026. This guide explains the current notice’s course thresholds, application steps, result verification and Direct Entry conditions, while keeping its original document deadlines separate from any later instruction an applicant may receive.
EKSU Post UTME: What The Current Notice Says
Ekiti State University’s notice invites UTME and Direct Entry candidates for the 2026/2027 exercise. Candidates who did not originally choose EKSU may be considered if they meet the relevant minimum and change their first-choice institution to EKSU on JAMB CAPS.
| Item | Published Position |
|---|---|
| Session | 2026/2027 |
| Start of screening | 3 July 2026 |
| Assessment | Screening, with no examination stated |
| Lowest UTME floor | 150, subject to higher programme requirements |
| Awaiting O’Level results | Applicants are told to apply once results are released |
| General O’Level condition | Five relevant credits, at no more than two sittings |
As of 26 October 2026, the opening date is historical. The notice should not be read as proof that a fresh application remains open. Check the current admission portal for an explicit active application instruction or later announcement before attempting payment.
For EKSU post UTME, the university also states that JUPEB is an EKSU route with a minimum of seven points and is not for IJMB admission under this notice. Applicants should not replace one advanced-level qualification name with another simply because both are discussed as alternatives to UTME.
General And Programme-Specific UTME Floors
The lowest score in the notice is 150, but several named programmes require more. Use the exact programme figure before deciding that your result qualifies you. A minimum is a screening condition, not a guarantee of a place.
| Programme Or Group | Minimum UTME Score |
|---|---|
| Other available programmes, subject to their requirements | 150 |
| Computer Science | 180 |
| Engineering programmes | 180 |
| Medical Biochemistry | 180 |
| Mass Communication | 200 |
| Medical Laboratory Science | 220 |
| Nursing Science | 230 |
| Pharmacy | 240 |
| Law | 250 |
| Medicine and Surgery, MBBS | 260 |
The sequence matters: Medical Laboratory Science is 220, Nursing is 230 and Pharmacy is 240 in the notice. Do not swap these values or assume all health programmes share one score. Likewise, the general 150 floor should not be applied to Law or Medicine.
Candidates below the named requirement may consider another suitable available programme and make the required course change on JAMB CAPS. A change should be based on acceptable subjects and genuine interest in the new degree, not only on finding a lower number.
Does Screening Without An Examination Mean Easier Admission?
The EKSU post UTME process still assesses eligibility. The notice’s no-examination statement removes the need to invent a test date, test venue or aptitude-test syllabus for this exercise. It does not remove subject requirements, result verification or the need to submit a complete form.
Applicants should therefore spend their time checking academic records and application details. A high UTME result cannot correct a missing required O’Level subject, and a successful online payment does not prove that the submitted grades have been verified.
Do not calculate a screening aggregate from an unofficial formula. The notice provides score floors and procedures but does not justify every formula circulated in applicant groups. Use an aggregate calculation only when the university supplies the method applicable to the current exercise.
O’Level Results And Verification
Applicants need at least five relevant credit passes in SSCE, NECO or NABTEB at no more than two sittings, according to the notice. The exact subjects must suit the proposed degree. Five credits in unrelated subjects are not an automatic admission qualification.
Candidates awaiting their results are instructed not to apply until those results are released. This is important for anyone who assumes an awaiting-result option is available simply because another university permits one. Follow EKSU’s stated rule for this exercise.
For EKSU post UTME applicants using NECO, the notice asks for result verification tokens and explains a verification route for those with difficulties. Enter the examination number, year, type and email accurately. A token problem and a missing academic credit are different issues and need different solutions.
Do not send results, tokens or personal account details to an unofficial helper who promises to bypass verification. Use the university’s designated support channel. Retain evidence of any support request so that the issue can be explained without repeatedly submitting conflicting information.
Online Registration: From Account To Acknowledgement
Begin at the university’s official portal and select the admission route for the correct session. Sign up using an active personal email address and phone number. The notice emphasises that applicants must be able to receive the verification email.
After signing up, log in with the registered email or JAMB registration number, as instructed, and the password created for the account. Select the 2026/2027 PUTME application. Candidates who chose EKSU may have information populated from their records, but that information should still be reviewed.
The EKSU post UTME process then directs applicants to the payment stage for the screening form. Check the current invoice before paying. The notice reviewed here does not state a complete monetary amount, so do not substitute an assumed fee taken from a different year or institution.
Following successful payment, complete the application and attach the required passport photograph. The notice specifies a one-inch coloured photograph with a red background in JPEG format. Ensure the image meets the current portal’s technical requirements as well, rather than uploading an unrelated or unreadable picture.
Enter O’Level results carefully, preview the whole application, confirm and submit. Print the completed screening form and retain the payment evidence. A form saved halfway through the process should not be treated as a completed application.
Direct Entry Requirements Need A Separate Check
The notice requires at least Upper Credit from polytechnic qualifications for Engineering and Lower Credit for other programmes where the relevant qualification is accepted. Do not generalise this into a rule that every diploma automatically qualifies for every degree.
For MBBS and Law, it names at least a Second Class Lower Division in related programmes. For Nursing, the candidate must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria as a Registered Nurse. For Education, it specifies NCE with Credit or Merit in relevant teaching subjects.
EKSU post UTME also covers eligible Direct Entry applicants changing their first-choice institution. Such applicants still need to follow the formal change process and meet the programme’s qualification requirements. A UTME floor table is not a complete guide to Direct Entry admission.
The notice gives 31 July 2026 for Direct Entry transcripts sent through the specified admissions email route. That date has passed. Do not assume a later portal status automatically extends a transcript deadline; obtain an explicit instruction if your documents were delayed.
Avoid Application Errors That Are Hard To Reverse
Check names, examination details, grades and course selection before final submission. Where the portal imports information, compare it with your genuine documents rather than clicking through automatically. Inaccurate information can lead to disqualification, even when the error was entered by someone assisting you.
Keep control of your email and password. If a cybercafé helps with the form, ensure you receive the acknowledgement and can log in independently afterwards. Never allow a helper to replace your contact information with their own simply because it makes registration faster.
Students comparing the process can read FUNAAB post UTME, which uses a different set of course floors and application charges. The guide to NSUK post UTME also shows why one university’s verification procedure should not be copied into another application.
What To Do After Screening
Monitor the official portal and JAMB admission records. A screening form confirms an application, not an offer. If a different course is proposed, read its conditions and complete the appropriate formal steps before assuming the transfer is settled.
For EKSU post UTME, any later payment should be tied to a clear official stage. Keep acceptance instructions, receipts and admission documents together. Avoid paying an individual who claims that a no-examination process allows them to guarantee a place.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will There Be An EKSU Post UTME Examination?
The official 2026/2027 notice explicitly says there will be no examination. Applicants must still complete screening and satisfy the academic requirements.
Is 150 Enough For Every Course?
No. Named programmes have higher floors, including 230 for Nursing, 250 for Law and 260 for Medicine and Surgery.
Can I Apply With Awaiting Results?
The notice tells candidates awaiting O’Level results to apply once those results have been released. Do not assume a different institution’s awaiting-result policy applies.
How Much Is The Form?
Check the amount on the current official invoice. The notice used for this guide does not supply a complete fee amount, so an unverified figure should not be treated as confirmed.
Does No Examination Guarantee Admission?
No. Eligibility, accurate records, verification, completed screening and the university’s selection process still determine admission consideration.
